Message from the President 2007
Dear ICTF Members,
This coming June will celebrate the first year in office for the 2006 elected Executive Committee and is marked
by many positive accomplishments.
Thanks go out to all those hard-working volunteer Executive Committee members and those that helped out this past
year. Financially the ICTF is back on solid ground and looking forward to continued growth thanks to increased
memberships, testings, seminars and competitions.
The ICTF welcomed 3 new member countries this past year with several more in the process of completing their membership
applications and soon to come on board. There were several spirited competitions and events in Canada, Europe and
USA experienced by ICTF members and non-members alike, truly proving that the ICTF doors are open to all.
The first year ended with well-deserved senior promotions to 8th Dan and the first of many to come: a 9th Dan Grandmaster
promotion. The Policy Manual went through its yearly revision and adjustments, thanks in part to the many suggestions
from ICTF members and reflects the truly Democratic process. We look forward to further suggestions and invite
you all to read the adjustments in blue.
The membership cards now have added value and we hope you will use the added features in support for those member
companies, with more features to come. A PayPal feature will be added shortly to the web site so that you may charge
all your purchases online including membership renewals, certification, supplies and more.
The first quarter of the second term brings in the first World Cup and AGM, to be celebrated in October in Edmonton,
Canada. This 3-day event is a first of its kind since it will crown a colour belt World Cup Champion for the first
time and without qualifying rounds or special interests of any kind. Any individual student wishing to compete
at a world class level may do so by just coming to compete regardless of affiliation which again proves the open
door policy of the ICTF. We look forward to more articles, photos and suggestions from around the globe as submitted
by ICTF members.
The future looks great for the ICTF in no small part through the contributions and support from its membership.
The Executive Committee looks forward to meeting all of you at the AGM in October. Thank you all for your support
and dedication to Ch'ang Hon Taekwon Do.
Grandmaster Mel Steiner
