OCTOBER 2006
The Tournament held in Kelowna on Saturday October
28 had an excellent turnout despite the major snowfall that hit the northern portion of the province. The event kicked off at 10 am with introductions
of all instructors and a welcome speech by Mr. Barker, 6th degree, host of the event. Master Stanley quickly covered
the sparring rules with two black belts demonstrating warnings, minus points and scoring, then it was every ring
running with the youngest competing first. The day's events continued without interruption and the last group finished
at 5 pm. The next major event for the ICTF in Western Canada will be the ICTF Western Canadian Championships to
be held in April in Prince George B.C. Estimated numbers for this event are 400 competitors and as per ICTF policy
any Taekwon-Do student is welcome, regardless of their organizational affiliation. Visit the Gallery
for photos.

OCTOBER 2006
The 2006 Alberta Provincials were
held October 14, 2006.
The tournament started off with a bang as
two ICTF members demonstrated some grappling techniques in a final match of a previously-held grapple style tournament.
The facility at SAIT was extremely large and gave all competitors and spectators plenty of elbow room. The 8 rings
managed to put through the day's competitors from the start time of 9:45 am to the last person out the door at
6:00 pm. Individual patterns and sparring as well as board breaking gave the majority of the competitors some options
in what they could compete in. The event also saw team sparring with 3-person teams for red and black belts. Next
up in Western Canada will be the ICTF BC Provincials being held on October 28. Visit the Gallery
for photos and the opening speech.

This month's seminars in the UK have been postponed to a later date. The
ICTF would like to wish Mr. Crawley a speedy recovery. |
